Perimeter

We have been learning about the Perimeter of a Shape.
Perimeter is the measurement of the outside of a shape.
Diamonds were given a challenge to use 6 pieces of A4 paper to make a shape with the greatest perimeter and a shape with the smallest perimeter.
This is what they came up with:
Ahnaliyah and Rebekkah thought this shape would have the smallest perimeter

Jacob, Xavier and Keerat thought this shape would have the greatest perimeter
We know that a rectangle has opposite sides that are equal in length so we only had to measure the short side and double it and then measure the longest side and do the same.

Here are Ahnaliyah and Braden explaining how they added up two of the sides of the rectangle that Jacob, Xavier and Keerat made.
